Not mere bureaucracy but a work method
OBJECTIVE
We aim at building real safety in the site.
T&T Costruzioni S.r.l. considers work safety as vital and not to be set aside. Each day, T&T Costruzioni S.r.l. applies standards, recommendations, procedures and technologies in order to guarantee a high safety level.
Quality procedures
As a proof of the company’s commitment to safety, the Quality Management System Manual (ISO 9001:2000) contains a full chapter dedicated to it. The procedures therein are based on actual feasibility and applicability criteria, not solely on legal requirements. These procedures relate to all the most important on-site activities, such as:
- Assignment of responsibilities in accordance with Legislative Decree 626/94;
- On site safety plans;
- Minimal requirements for on-site safety plan (POS);
- Yard management and application;
- New procedures that will permit OHSAS 18001 certification (effective beginning of 2009).
On-site safety supervisor
For each yard, T&T Costruzioni appoints a skilled, qualified person as Safety Supervisor. Appointments take place according to a hierarchic line, starting from the Internal Safety Coordinator (with independent decision and financial power) who operates to ensure that all workers comply with the current legislation on security, accident prevention and work health.
Prevention and Protection Service (SIL Engineering)
Since its establishment, T&T Costruzioni’s Board of Directors has appointed an external Prevention and Protection Supervisor (RSPP), from a leading consulting company, having the following responsibilities:
- detection and assessment of risk factors;
- proposal of suitable preventive measures;
- drafting of on-site safety plans (POS);
- coordination of staff training activities.
T&T Costruzioni’s organizational model is based on internal procedures for prevention of illegal actions. Specific protocols have been developed to guide the company decision-making procedures. These resulted in the issue of: a code of conduct, a disciplinary system, the assignment of tasks, the implementation of audits, the establishment of a monitoring system, allowing for the immediate detection of any malfunctions or irregularities.
The inspection body - internal/external
T&T Costruzioni created an on-site inspection body responsible for monitoring the security of building yards. This body is economically independent and consists of:
- Safety Coordinator, Mr. Diego Cuccolini,
- Head of Safety, external to T&T SIL Engineering;
- Security Consultant, Mr. Renato Gatti, retired General of the Carabinieri (Italian Police).
By means of this organizational structure, T&T Costruzioni maintains actual on-site safety and security, guaranteeing a high degree of reliability for all its customers.
